Highlight for Album: Drawbridge Ghost Town
Drawbridge Ghost Town
On December 23, 2008, my brothers and I went to check out the Bay Area's only remaining ghost town. It is located west of Fremont in the marshland adjacent to the bay. Officially closed to visitors, the only way into town is a gravel road connecting to train tracks which must be followed into town. The tracks served as the town's main street until the last resident left in the 70s.

Highlight for Album: Mexico Mission 2008
Mexico Mission 2008
I spent June 20-28 in Ensenada, Mexico for my third consecutive mission trip there. As in years past, we put on a VBS program for the kids in the neighborhood of the church Rayo de Luz. We had about 50 kids attend the program, down from last year, but still a good turnout. A new project this year was some roof repair on the church. The roof of the upstairs rooms got damaged during the winter storms, and had deteriorated in certain sections. We worked with the pastor and his nephew on repairing a section of the roof, and hope to replace the rest of the roof at a later time.

Highlight for Album: Cheney Road Trip June 2008
Cheney Road Trip June 2008
I spent June 10 through 13 of 2008 on a road trip to pick up my brother from college in Cheney, WA. The total trip was just over 2,000 miles long, and we took our time to stop along the way. On the way up, I stopped at the Clarno unit of the John Day Fossil Beds, and we took US Highway 295 through Oregon's far eastern high desert to do some geocaching. Once back in California, we visited Castle Crags State Park and Lassen National Park. Not bad for four days on the road.

There is also a Google map of the route I took available: http://tinyurl.com/4o3mzd

2008 Misc
This is a collection of pictures from some things I did in the first part of 2008 that didn't really warrant an album of their own. I went on the Big Basin waterfall loop hike a couple of times and took some pictures of the waterfalls along the trail. In April, I worked with Jerry on painting "scfbc.org" on the roof of our church so next time satellite imagery is updated, people will know what they're looking at and where to go. On April 14, I went to Half Moon Bay with my brother and found a cool beach.

Highlight for Album: Mexico Construction
Mexico Construction
A group from my church spent April 4–6, 2008 in Ensenada, Mexico to help build a school for local orphans. The camp we stay at for our Mexico Outreach trips in June has a large building that they are converting to a school, and they rely on volunteer groups traveling down to do the construction.
